Apathy

So I'm back in that mood. It's that mood where I feel lazy and tired, and just out of it. I feel like I just don't get as close to people as I would like to be. People I hang out with are just that, people that go to the same events as me. Sometimes I will talk to them and they won't even acknowledge that I'm speaking to them. It can be frustrating. I know people do like me, but it's just hard to go from close awesome friendships at camp to the lonely feeling I have at Asbury. I'm not trying to say that I don't like anyone here, or that I don't like Asbury. I do. I like the people and the things I have experienced so far. I just want them to get better. I want friendships to develop and mainly just to enjoy my time here. Maybe it seems like I'm whining and I apologize if this is so, but this is the only place I can be completely honest and open about how I feel.

I completely understand how you feel, and one thing that I have found in my friendships away from camp is that I don't work hard at getting, or developing them. If they don't work out then I can go back to knowing how great my real friendships are. So knowing this, I try to give people a chance and also actively try and make friends, which has been hard. Making real strong friendships at camp is easier then the real world for sure.

I'm glad you know people like you, because they really do.

I totally know what you mean. I feel exactly the same a lot of the time.
